Description

This product will be available to ship as of Thursday Oct. 22. Delivery will be delayed if purchased ahead of time for a Tuesday/Wednesday regular delivery.

King crab, sold as broken pieces instead of whole legs. Same crab, same meat, lower price. It’s cooked, shell-on, and frozen, so you thaw it, warm it through, and serve.

Broken pieces are the practical buy when the meat is coming out of the shell anyway. More of it is already exposed, so it’s easier to get into and quicker to pick, and you’re not paying extra for how it looks on a platter.

Serving Ideas:

Butter and Lemon: Melted butter, a squeeze of lemon, and nothing else.
Crab Rolls: Picked meat, a little mayo, lemon, chives, a toasted bun.
Pasta: Folded through linguine with garlic, chili, and butter at the end.
Crab Cakes & Dip: Anything where the meat gets picked out first.
Bisque & Chowder: The shells make a stock worth building the soup on.

Cooking Instructions

The crab is fully cooked. You’re only warming it through, so keep it short — overcooking is what turns crab dry and stringy.

Thawing
Thaw overnight in the fridge. For a faster thaw, seal it in a bag and sit it in cold water for 30–60 minutes. Don’t thaw at room temperature.

Steam (best method)
Bring an inch of water to a boil, set the crab in a steamer basket above it, cover, and steam 4–6 minutes from thawed — just until hot.

Oven
Wrap in foil with a splash of water and heat at 350°F (175°C) for 8–10 minutes.

Storage Instructions

Keep frozen until you’re ready to use it. Once thawed, keep refrigerated and use within a day or two. Don’t refreeze.
