Update: After I posted this review, Valley Direct's customer service reached out to help resolve my issues. It turns out that instead of the "lean" beef that I ordered I was sent "regular" beef, which explained the extra greasiness. And, although the matter of leaking and underweight packages was not thoroughly addressed (it sounds like their provider basically ignored those questions/concerns) the ground beef provider admitted to mistakenly packaging regular beef as lean.
I'd say this should not reflect poorly on Valley Direct, and through their customer service I received a refund for both boxes of ground beef that I bought as well as a small credit on my account to use anytime for anything from their store in the future. I'll keep my rating of the beef as 2 stars simply because it WAS in fact a major error. and the packaged were still leaking and underweight, but if I were rating Valley Direct themselves, it would be a 4 star rating (not 5 simply due to them not responding to my questions/concerns until I posted the original review below).
Original: Ordered a few things including frozen lean ground beef. About 2/3 of the packages were damaged with holes, some were 20g more or less short of the advertised weight, and the meat was way greasier than past lean ground beef from Valley Direct. I reached out to notify their team and got zero response. Too bad, they've been good up to this point.
Good quality. Perfect size for my family
