When my order arrives I re-portion the 5 pound bag into approximately 10 half pound bags and freeze all but one bag. In my household this supply last about 5 months. I also keep a supply of shredded cheddar cheese on hand. This method avoids any waste by spoilage and also avoids excess food shopping trips and the associated fuel and vehicle operating cost not to mention time consumed on shopping trips.
The shredded Monterey Pepper Jack cheese has enough spiciness for my household's taste preferences. The consistency of flavour is good from bag to bag and that helps with easy of cooking use.
